Giving Thanks for Children
Children's children are a crown to the aged.
(Proverbs 17:6)

One man said: My youngest son is the 100th descendant from my Grandparents, who are still living and approaching their 90th birthdays. I must admit that I did not figure this out on my own but was informed of this milestone by another relative. The remarkable thing about this is that all of the 100 descendants from my Grandparents are still living. My Grandparents have never experienced the loss of a child, grandchild, or great-grand child. It is no wonder that my Grandfather's favorite hymn is "Great Is Thy Faithfulness".
When I visit my Grandparents, my favorite part of the visit is listening to Grandpa pray. He prays from the heart with deep feeling and meaning. He always remembers to give thanks for his descendants. He thanks God for their physical health. He prays that the Lord will meet their needs and watch over them. He prays that the Lord will work in their hearts.
Most of us assume that our children will all be healthy and happy and well-adjusted. But anyone who has children that struggle knows how foolish it is to assume this. If you have been blessed with children, possibly even grandchildren, don't neglect to thank God for each one of them. Ask God to take care of their physical needs and to bless them spiritually. Pray for their salvation: ask God to call each one of them to saving faith.
PRAYER:Father, thank you for the joy we have because of our children. And help us carry out our responsibilities as we care for them. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
為子孫感謝
「子孫為老人的冠冕。」
(箴17:6)
有一弟兄說：我的幼子是我祖父母的第100個後代，祖父母不但健在，且快步入90歲的高齡了。坦白說，要不是親戚告訴我，我對此還懵然不知，值得一提的，是我祖父母的這100個子孫全都健在，他們從來未嘗過失去兒孫的苦楚，難怪祖父很愛唱「您的信實廣大」這首詩了。
在探望祖父母時，我最喜歡做的就是聆聽祖父的祈禱了。在他那衷心的禱詞中，常蘊含著深刻的感受，實在饒有意味。他常為擁有這麼多的子孫而感謝神，也為他們身體健康而感謝神。他又祈求主繼續供應、保守，並引導他們的心。
我們想當然地認為自己的子孫將來必然健康、快樂且生活安穩。但那些親眼目睹子孫們掙扎求生的，就會知道這是何等的不智。假若你現在兒孫滿堂，千萬不要忘了為他們每一位感謝，並求神看顧他們肉身的需要，祝福他們的靈性，更要為他們因信得救祈求→願神召喚他們，讓他們得著這拯救人的信仰。
禱告:父啊，我們為擁有兒孫這大喜樂感謝您，求幫助我們能盡忠撫養他們成人。奉耶穌的名求，阿們。
